Speeches and music

The official act of state begins at 11.30 a.m. on the lawn next to Vaduz Castle with speeches by H.S.H. Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein and the President of the Parliament, Albert Frick. The national anthem of Liechtenstein, which opens with the words “Up above the young Rhine…”, is then played.

Aperitif in the Rose Garden

Following the conclusion of the official act of state, an aperitif hosted by Prince Hans-Adam II and Princess Marie of Liechtenstein is held at Vaduz Castle at around 12.30 p.m. The entire population is invited to attend.

The history behind the act of state

It is only since 1990 that the act of state has taken place on the lawn next to Vaduz Castle.
