Liechtenstein National Day

 

Liechtenstein's National Day is celebrated every year on August 15.

Highlights include the official state ceremony, the big folk festival in the town center of Vaduz, and fireworks after dark. Find all the highlights of the day here.


Programm 2025

 

10:30 a.m. – State ceremony

Official state ceremony with speeches by H.S.H. Hereditary Prince Alois von und zu Liechtenstein and President of the Parliament Manfred Kaufmann, followed by a blessing by Bishop Benno Elbs and refreshments on the castle lawn. (Participation only with ticket)
 

12:00 p.m. - Public festival

Market stalls open and children's and youth program begins at the large public festival in the town center of Vaduz
 

2:00 p.m. - Host community and stage program

Ceremonial entrance of the host community of Vaduz onto Peter-Kaiser-Platz and start of the stage program
 

9:15 p.m. – Bonfire

Lighting the bonfires on the mountain peaks and the fire crown on Tuass, torchlight procession along the Fürstensteig
 

10:00 p.m. – Fireworks

Large fireworks display over Vaduz
 

2:00 a.m. – End
