Liechtenstein's national holiday is held annually on August 15.
August 15 is a holiday in Liechtenstein, namely Assumption Day or Our Lady's Day. It has been celebrated since 1940 and is closely related to the birthday of Prince Franz-Josef II on August 16. Traditionally, the official state ceremony takes place in the morning, followed by the big public festival for everyone in the center of Vaduz in the afternoon. The highlight are the fireworks in the evening.
